Writing about technology there are things you expect. Your knowledge of specific tech sectors is fleshed out exponentially. But there are certain items that catch you by surprise. In this case it’s robots. Now, everyone knows that demand for robots is high. We’ve got 3-law type programs in place to deal with potential mishaps, and so feeling safe the general public would really like a robot to do their daily household tasks. What’s surprising is the growing number of consumer robots hitting the market. Take KA Home Robotics latest gem, the LawnBott Remote-Controlled Mower. It’s a robot that cuts your grass.
The LawnBott is a mulching mower, so you get cut grass and fertilizer while you sleep. As silly as the idea initially appears to be, the little bit is an ingenious piece of hardware. You just set up a perimeter in your yard with the provided wire and nails, program the bot, and let it go. It can be programmed to run at specific times and it does it on it’s own. When done mowing it goes back home for a siesta, you’ll have to provide the ice cold lemonade for the hard days work though. LawnBott is also capable of dealing with lawn and weather issues. If you have a hilly yard the bot is able to trek up 27 degree inclines, and with a rain sensor it will go back to the dock if a downpour starts up.
Now if your robot decides it’s time to implement a plan of neighborhood domination you do have some recourse. A remote control is provided to keep your wily bot in check. It’s also good for Old Man Wilson to keep those damn kids off his yard. Not that we at CB Tech recommend using a robot with high speed spinning blades as a delinquent deterrent.
You can get an eco-friendly lawn mower starting at $1,749.00. But if you want more robot sexiness there are 3 more models available. For more information on where to buy check out the LawnBott website.
